Although it takes a lot longer to get to Cornwall via bus, it can often be worth the effort. The costs are very low, and the routes take you mainly across the country so plenty to see. Bus routes into Cornwall and then St Ives are very regular from all areas of the UK, more info HERE

Flying into Cornwall

It may be you are coming into Cornwall from Europe or Ireland, or simply prefer to get to St Ives in Cornwall really much quicker, the good news is Newquay has an airport! and its a 30min drive from Newquay to St Ives, perfect for any 2019 holiday.

 

 

The best time to visit Cornwall

With Cornwall having a  warm temperate climate, you will find mostly mild summers (June through to September) although 2018 will go down as extremely hot. The Cornish winters are cool and rainy around (December–Febuary ). Do take NOTE the busiest travel period is July through to Aug when roads into Cornwall are extremely busy, and often gridlocked!

Many also visit the Golowan Festival (Penzance, Jun) this celebrates the start of summer with parades and a street fair. The beachfront Boardmasters Festival (Newquay, Aug) attracts a young crowd for concerts, camping, and surfing events. In Oct, the Falmouth Oyster Festival features cooking demonstrations, seafood vendors and live music. Over the year you can find lots going on.
