The Garrack – A Dog Friendly Hotel
The Garrack Hotel, situated in the heart of St Ives, warmly welcomes dogs into it’s hotel and encourages dog owners to come down and make the most of the beautiful of area of St Ives, and surrounding towns of Cornwall.
Although there are many beaches around Cornwall that do not accept dogs in the summer months, there are still a whopping 53 beaches that welcome man’s best friend. Cornwall is known for it’s stunning beaches and lush landscapes, a treat for any dog to go out and play in!
Doggy behaviour at The Garrack Hotel
Your canine companion can stay with you in designated bedrooms for a small extra charge of £10 per dog per night. We have five guest rooms that are suitable for guests with dogs, and Godrevy Cottage is also pet-friendly.

Dog Walks at the Garrack Hotel – St Ives
While staying at the Garrack Hotel you will find amazing walks around the Hotel area, and all around St Ives, it’s a wonderful place to bring a dog for your weekend or week-long holiday break with cliff top and countryside walks galore from the moment you step out the front door of the Hotel!
As you leave the hotel on any dog walk its always best to keep your dog on a lead, you will find most local farmers welcome dogs on their land as these are often part of public highways, however as you will expect many farmers have livestock in their fields in and around the Garrack Hotel, so please be respectful.
During your dog walks from the Garrack Hotel you will also see, (if you look carefully) a multitude of Cornish Wildlife in and around the hillsides and cliff tops, birds such as kestrels, Buzzards, Swifts, Cormorants, and sometimes if you are really lucky Barn Owls.
In addition to the birds, you will have opportunities to see Sand and Common Lizards, Grass Snakes, Slow Worms, and Adders.

Take Care With Adders
Each year in Cornwall many dogs find themselves on the receiving end of an adder bite, below is a brief selection of tips of what to do if your dog gets bitten by an adder:
